What Daffodils Represent

The symbolism of daffodils and daffodil jewellery dates back centuries. Daffodils are the national flower of Wales and are traditionally worn on St David’s Day; St David is said to have worn a leek on his cloak along with a bunch of daffodils.

They also make an appearance at St Piran's Day celebrations in Cornwall, which is also one of the first places in the UK that they bloom.

Daffodils have been associated with new beginnings, hope, joy and luck. The bright yellow hue is said to bring light and life to an otherwise drab month. Many people choose to give each other daffodils as a sign of love or appreciation. For this reason, many brides will choose to carry a bouquet of spring flowers down the aisle on their special day. In addition to being a popular choice for spring bouquets, daffodils are often used as part of a floral display during Easter or Mother's Day. It is no surprise that this cheerful flower has become synonymous with spring!
